Both players have been excellent on the march to today's final but there's only one winner for Alex Lee...

Judd Trump faces Mark Allen in today's UK Championship Snooker final with the youngster from Bristol hot favourite - and rightly so. His form and flamboyant playing style has been absolutely fantastic all year and it was only experience on the part of John Higgins that prevented Trump from becoming World Champion in May. In other words, Trump didn't choke, he just came across a similarly gifted player but with far more ranking final action under his belt.

It has to be said that Trump's opponent Allen has been impressive all tournament, however, beating Gunnell, Carter, Fu and Walden on the way and is more than capable of taking a fair few frames along the way.

While the weight of expectation to win will be largely on Trump, he won't mind in the slightest and you can guarantee he'll play his normal attacking game. Don't expect many protracted safety battles in this one as both players love to get among the balls and score heavily. It's a shame there isn't a market on the finishing time of the match, because these two play so quickly it could be over before 21:30.

Sometimes it's best just to keep things simple and stick with the most straightforward choice, so I'll be setting up my stall on the match odds market. Enjoy the game because I believe it will provide Trump's first major trophy.
