The BBC's David Croft on why Mark Selby will crash out of the semi-finals of the Snooker UK Championship
The current Masters Champion Ronnie O Sullivan has been in scintillating form this week and whilst I half expected him to come through against Jamie Cope yesterday, the 9-2 drubbing wasn't a score-line many would have predicted. O Sullivan is now as short as [1.71] to win the Championship outright and quite a bit lower to beat Selby at [1.3]. Selby must have a chance; after all you don't get to a world snooker final without having plenty of talent and at [4.3] provides Betfair punters with a decent return for a small outlay. However I just can't see Ronnie O Sullivan losing this one and I'm looking at the [6.6] on offer for him to win by 9 frames to 3.
Considering how many of the top stars didn't make it to the 2nd round the semi final line up is as exciting as you could hope for. All four are on top of their game and well worth staying on the sofa for. Now will somebody fetch me some crisps and a blanket!
