Alex believes Trump will be smiling on Monday

"Trump is world class and has the beating of everyone in this tournament. His form is good and he has the ability and the momentum to triumph over Bingham."

Alex Lee selects two bets at the Masters on Monday, including one on a young star who could go all the way and another on a closer contest than the markets anticipate...

There are two more matches in the Masters Snooker on Monday, one of which features an ex-World Champion and the other the current UK Snooker Championship title holder.

First up is flavour of the month Judd Trump against Stuart Bingham. To paraphrase electric shock-haired boxing promoter Don King, Bingham has two chances - slim and none... and slim's outta town. No disrespect to the likeable Bingham as he's improved his game no end in the past 24 months with the result being a deserved leap up the world rankings table to his current position of eleventh. Trump, on the other hand, is simply world class and has the beating of everyone in this tournament. His form coming into the event is good, with a win in the Group One Play-off final over Shaun Murphy in last week's Championship League Snooker, and he has the ability and the momentum to triumph over Bingham.

In the evening session at London's Alexandra Palace, meanwhile, the aforementioned ex-World Champion Murphy takes on Martin Gould. While the stout devout Christian beat the potter from Pinner comfortably in December's UK Championship, Gould is one of snooker's most determined characters and will not have taken kindly to that defeat. With Murphy installed as the clear favourite in this fixture, the value lies in taking Gould on the +1.5 frames handicap as this will be a whole lot closer than the market would have you believe.

Recommended Bet
Back Judd Trump @ [1.5] to beat Stuart Bingham
Back Martin Gould +1.5 frames @ [1.8] v Shaun Murphy
