Christmas may be almost a fortnight away but for one Betfair customer the celebrations have already begun.

In yet another example of why it pays to bet on Betfair, the lucky punter, who staked £5 on eight weekend football mathes, is now £55,000 better off.

He scoured the European football markets to put together a Multiple of eight wonder bets at combined odds of around 11,000/1.
