Trent Burton announces the cancellation of the Malaysian MotoGP and pays tribute to a great champion...
Today's MotoGP race at Sepang, Malaysia, has been cancelled after two laps following an accident that involved Marco Simoncelli, Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.
Rossi escaped without injury, Edwards suffered minor injuries, but Simoncelli tragically passed away from injuries sustained in the accident.
The race has been officially cancelled and will not be restarted.
Our thoughts are with Marco's friends, family and team, as well as the entire MotoGP paddock, at this time. The sport has lost a true champion and a great character today.
