The two Red Bull drivers were involved in a catastrophic collision in Istanbul when Vettel attempted to overtake his team-mate on lap 40. The German driver flew off the track to end his race but the Australian managed to stay and finish third.

Hamilton exploited the Red Bull's crash and managed to stay ahead for the final 18 laps. Fellow-Brit Jenson Button, who can be backed at [10.0] to regain his chmapionship, came in behind him to complete a McLaren 1-2.
