Lewis Hamilton has Brazilian shocker as 120 Raikkonen becomes World Champion for first time.
Lewis Hamilton - who traded at a low of 1.98 to win the Brazilian GP - was passed by championship rivals Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso through the first two corners, took an unscheduled trip off the track during the opening lap and then lost 40 seconds through mechanical failure. He finished 7th to scupper his dream of becoming World Champion in his rookie season.
Raikkonen meanwhile was matched at a high of 4 but drove a textbook race to take the chequered flag and with it the F1 title.
By contrast, what looks certain to be his last drive for McLaren ended with a whimper for Fernando Alonso. The double world champion traded at a low of 3.25 to win on the Interlagos circuit but never threatened, finishing 4th.
Raikkonen claimed the world crown by a single point from Alonso and Hamilton, which meant mixed fortunes for Betfair punters. Lewis Hamilton was matched at a low of 1.03 to take the Drivers Championship, but spraying the champagne around somewhere will be the punter who got £6 on Raikkonen at a high of 120 when the Finn looked to have blown his chances mid-season.
