Fernando Alonso made it two from two by winning the Japanese Grand Prix in the early hours of Sunday, after being matched at [48.0] on Betfair.

It wasn't quite the incredible price of [890.0] that he was matched at to win the Singapore Grand Prix during qualifying two weeks ago but the Spaniard's fans and backers will be delighted at the form he has shown over the last two races.

Lewis Hamilton was matched at a low of [1.79] to win at Suzuka just minutes before the start of the race, from which he started on pole, but a melee on the first lap that pushed him back to sixth, a collision with Massa and the resulting penalty for his infringement meant he finished outside the points - he was matched at [1.18] to get at least one.

Kubica (matched at a low of [2.7] to win) finished second and Raikkonen third but more significantly Massa picked up two points for finishing 7th after being promoted from eighth due to a post-race penalty awarded to Bourdais.

With Hamilton's lead reduced to five points and just two races left, his price has drifted from a pre-race [1.3] to a post-race [1.37] in the Championship Winner market; Massa has come in to [3.85].

Robert Kubica is an unlikely contender to be World Champion but with his second-place finish in Japan, he is "just" 12 points behind Hamilton and can't be ruled out altogether according to the Betfair market. He is currently trading at 28, having touched Betfair's maximum price of [1000.0] earlier on in the season.
