Button beats team-mate Rubens Barrichello in Spain to cement his position at the top of the standings....
Jenson Button's bid to win his first Formula One title continues strongly after the British driver was matched at [3.85] to win the Spanish GP during the first few laps of the race. The surprise leader at that time was his team-mate Rubens Barrichello who got off to a flyer and was matched as low as [1.41] to be first past the chequered flag. The winning runner in the "winning margin" market was "10 seconds or more" which was matched at [2.9].
The win sees Button, matched at odds of 290 before the start of the season, go odds-on (currently [1.73]) for the first time since the start of this year's edition whereas his team Brawn Mercedes are even shorter at [1.43] to win the Constructor's Championship. Sebastian Vettel is next at [4.8] in the betting to be crowned champion whilst the biggest names in the sport such as Lewis Hamilton (odds of [21.0]), Fernando Alonso ([25.0]) and Kimi Raikkonen ([34.0]) look like they will have to wait till next season for a proper go at winning the F1 Championship.
