Brazilian matched at [1.01] before suffering late heartbreak at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
More than £18,000 was traded at [1.01] on Betfair for a Felipe Massa victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix before the Brazilian driver was forced to retire just three laps from the finish.
The late drama saw some huge numbers matched on the exchange.
The main beneficiary of Massa's poor luck was McLaren driver Heikki Kovalainen who was backed at a high of [170.0] to win the race.
Meanwhile, second-placed Timo Glock was backed at [50.0] for a podium finish and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen at 20.
It was a poor afternoon for Lewis Hamilton and his backers as the British driver endured a torrid time at the Hungaroring. Hamilton could only finish in fifth after being overtaken at the first corner and then suffered a burst front tyre to blitz his hopes of a third straight victory.
Hamilton was backed at a low of [1.24] to win the race and [1.06] for a podium finish.
The McLaren driver remains the odds-on choice for the Drivers' Championship at [1.7] but Raikkonen has sprung from [7.0] to [3.8] second favourite.

The Once regarded as the 'enfant terrible' of F1 needs a lot of luck to win a Championship. Maybe if his engine didn't blew off that stranded him on the pit, he could've win.
