The Misano circuit will provide a new test for riders and betting punters alike when MotoGP heads to San Marino on September 2.
The track has undergone a number of modifications in recent times, having been missing from the MotoGP calendar since 1993. Now 60,000 fans will be able to watch the action live, while thousands of betting punters will be viewing on TV.
After an impressive season to date, Australia's Casey Stoner is the man to catch and the Ducati rider will be a strong fancy in the betting markets. The 21-year-old is likely to be at short odds to win the 13th race of the season.
Stoner has been the outstanding figure of the 2007 campaign, winning six races to date and not finishing outside the top five, and that is likely to be reflected in the betting.
A popular choice for punters seeking a bet will be Italian star Valentino Rossi, as the seven-time world champion looks to improve his 2007 form. 'The Doctor' was successful in his home GP in Mugello and there will be plenty of local support for the Fiat Yahama rider in San Marino.
Dani Pedrosi, the youngest world champion in 125cc and 250cc, has shown consistant form this season and may be be a tempting bet at healthy odds to claim victory in San Marino.
The Spaniard is in only his second season in MotoGP, but his victory in July's race in Germany suggests the 21-year-old Honda rider is one for the future.
Ducati lead the constructors championship and those looking for them to continue their form and seek a bet at bigger odds in San Marino, may decide to plump for Italy's Loris Capirossi.
The 33-year-old is currently eighth in the standings and his second place in Germany suggests he can challenge the title contenders on his day.
