"Jenkins has a 9-4 advantage in the head to head record between the two of them, including three wins in three days in September’s Championship of Darts. Available at [1.5] in the match odds market and [1.7] in the handicap, Jenkins looks the stand out bet of today’s action."
Perennial also-ran Ovens should be no match for Jenkins, says Jaymes Monte
The PDC rankings are becoming extremely similar in structure to football's English Premier League. There is an elite group of three players at the top - Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld and James Wade - who are rarely in danger of dropping out of those positions. Then there is a second tier of three who on their day can challenge the 'big three' but lack the consistency to become a permanent fixture at the summit and then there's the rest.
Terry Jenkins is a member of the second tier and today he faces the perennial also ran Denis Ovens. At the age of 52 Ovens has never made it past the quarter-finals stage of a televised event, continuing the Premier League theme he is the unfashionable Bolton Wanderers of the Darting world. Jenkins on the other hand has seven major finals to his name including the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts, is an ever present fixture in the latter stages of tournaments and is always a match for Wade and van Barneveld, he is the Aston Villa of the PDC.
Jenkins has a 9-4 advantage in the head to head record between the two of them, including three wins in three days in September's Championship of Darts. Available at [1.5] in the Match Odds market and [1.7] in the Handicap, Jenkins looks the stand out bet of today's action.
Selection: Back Terry Jenkins to beat Denis Ovens @ [1.5]; Back Terry Jenkins (-1.5) to beat Dennis Ovens @ [1.7]
