"Looking at a fixture before you look at the prices can often bring a pleasant surprise, I expected to see Young a slight favourite here, but to see him priced up as the [2.4] outsider makes this a standout back for me."
Jaymes Monte was pleasantly surprised to see Darin Young the outsider to beat Denis Ovens - he's backing the American today
As Phil Taylor posted his worst televised average in over 10 years, I got well and truly stung yesterday by putting my faith in a match-up where the result was not important. So tonight I am focusing my attention on the games where both players need the win. There will be no more excuses from me.
Denis Ovens and Darin Young both have two points to their name having both beaten Adrian Lewis and lost to Terry Jenkins, making this a straight knockout. In truth neither player had to be at their best to beat Lewis nor did either really came close to springing a shock victory over Jenkins. However, it was the big American, Young who I have been most impressed with, consistent high scoring including five tournament 180s - Ovens has yet to hit a maximum - and a 147 checkout against Lewis give him the edge for me.
Looking at a fixture before you look at the prices can often bring a pleasant surprise, I expected to see Young a slight favourite here, but to see him priced up as the [2.4] outsider makes this a standout back for me.
Selection: Back Darin Young to beat Dennis Ovens @ [2.4]
