Bangor on Dee

Notable Jockeys Robert 'Choc' Thornton rode over 100 winners last season & won the 2008 Champion Hurdle. Tony McCoy - perennial Champion Jump Jockey and leading rider this season. Joe Tizzard rides for his father Colin.
Notable Horses The feature race features Nenuphar Collonges, a Grade 1 winner at the Cheltenham Festival over hurdles in March this year. This French-bred had previously won over fences at Bangor-on-Dee at this meeting in 2006 before reverting so successfully to hurdles - his trainer Alan King is sure to wish to take advantage of his lower chase rating, but the horse also holds an entry in Newbury's Hennessey Gold Cup at the end of the month.

Other Information Charity day for the Clwyd Special Riding Centre, there will be a Charity lunch for 300 & a Silent Auction for the public throughout the afternoon with great items such as Morning on the Gallops with Jonjo O'Neill at Jackdaws Castle, Morning on the gallops with Donald McCain Jnr. At Bank House Stables, Cholmondeley, Visit to Michael Owen's training establishment near Malpas, Day with a Vet at a racecourse, and many more . CSRC will also be making an exit collection after racing, please give generously to this worthwhile cause which gives disabled children and adults the opportunity to ride and drive horses and ponies.
"Racing to School" scheme in operation - School children visit the track to take part in a whole host of activities with one of the Racing to School Education officers. All of the activities incorporate some of the key elements that they learn in their classes at school.
There will be a free bus service from Wrexham General Station to the racecourse at 11.20pm. First race is at 12.50 and gates open from 11.30am.

Ruby Walsh Champion Irish jockey and previous winner of the Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup. Richard Johnson & Paddy Brennan - 2 of only 4 riders to win over 100 races last season.
Notable Horses 2.50pm Penzance is a former winner of the Triumph Hurdle. He takes on I'msingingtheblues who made a big impression when winning over course and distance on his chasing debut last time.

Notable Jockeys Top ten riders this season - Dane O'Neill & Tom Eaves. Micky Fenton, a Classic-winning rider, having won the 1,000 Guineas with Speciosa. Liam Jones - the rider from Liverpool had his best ever season in the saddle.
Notable Horses Ice Bellini attempts a hat-trick of wins at 3.30pm, his last win was at this track. He takes on Flame Creek, a fair horse in his prime (Grade 2 winner over hurdles) and still going strong at the age of 12.
Silent Wonder (12.10pm) attempts to break his duck having been 2nd on five of his six runs.

Notable Horses Intabih goes for a hat-trick at 8.20pm. Multiple Group race winner The Tatling (7.50pm) is not the force he was but is still winning races at the age of 11.
