Noel Fehily - lies 5th in the championship title race. Jamie Moore brother to champion flat jockey Ryan Moore rides for his father Gary at their local track. Robert 'Choc' Thornton rode over 100 winners last season & won the 2008 Champion Hurdle. Richard Johnson, 2nd in Jump Jockey Championship & only 1 of 4 jockeys to ride over 100 winners in the previous season.
Notable Horses
Two trainers Gary Moore & Brendan Powell could have a hat-trick of wins in the opening race. This year Gary runs Sufad & Brendan has Morestead.
You don't see too many Royal Ascot winners at Fontwell but Missoula, who runs in the novices' hurdle at 2.40pm, did win the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting in June. Jordan (the equine version) runs in the same race.

Notable Horses
Programme Girl in the 3.20pm won twice at this course this year & bids for a hat-trick.
Look out for Ajay in the 1.20pm - his trainer Ferdy Murphy has won this race for the past two years whilst his jockey Graham Lee has won three of the last five runnings. In the same race is Tank Top, second in a very good novice chase at Cheltenham last time and a very rare Sedgefield runner for trainer Tom George.
Rivington Pike (1.50pm) runs in the same colours as Blythe Knight, winner of the Lincoln Handicap on the Flat and a very classy hurdler over jumps.

Notable Horses
The 11-year-old Soba Jones has won his last 3 races at Southwell and attempts a 4th win here at 1.30pm. He has won here 9 times in his 111 race career.
Zaffeu had a great time on the all weather earlier in the year, winning 4 races between January and March, three of them at Southwell. Vince Slattery was on board all of those and tries to get another win from him in the 2.30pm.
Dasheen (3.30pm) won this race last year.
