12.30pm Bob Adams and Paul Smith are in the studio for racing from Catterick, Exeter and Southwell. The main attention-grabbers will be Paul Nicholls' duo Twist Magic and Natal, two of the nine runners in the William Hill Gold Cup Chase at Exeter at 2.40pm.

Notable Jockeys Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan head their respective categories to be the leading trainer and jockey respectively during the Flat season at Catterick. The awards are sponsored by The Nag's Head at Pickhill.
William Carson - grandson of former champion jockey Willie Carson. Greg Fairley, last season's Champion apprentice jockey, is in action. Micky Fenton, a Classic-winning rider, having won the 1,000 Guineas with Speciosa. Declan Cannon won the Hands and heels Apprentice Series.
Notable Horses 1.50pm Joe Caster is on a hat-trick. 2.20pm Grade 2 winning hurdler Tazbar has his second run on the flat. 3.50pm Hernando's Boy won this race last season.

The feature race, formerly known as the Haldon Gold Cup, is famous for the calibre of its runners and Best Mate, Desert Orchid, Kauto Star and Viking Flagship are just some of the famous names to line up in the race. There is a free bus service from Exeter St David's and Exeter Bus Station.

Other Information The new Weatherbys All-Weather Hands and Heels Apprentice Series gets underway at Southwell. This is a series of 10 races, 2 at each of the British All-Weather courses, culminating in a final on Winter Derby day at Lingfield Park. The summer Hands and Heels Apprentice series has been very popular and successful in developing apprentices riding skills and professionalism - this all-weather series provides an opportunity for inexperienced apprentices to gain advice from the jockey coaches, as well as race rides throughout the winter months.
