Exeter

Type: Jump.

First Race: 2.10pm.

Notable Jockeys: Richard Johnson, 2nd in Jump Jockey Championship & only 1 of 4 jockeys to ride over 100 winners in the previous season.

Notable Horses: Straw Bear - top class Grade 1 winning hurdler (Kempton's Christmas Hurdle and Newcastle's Fighting Fifth Hurdle) has his first run over the bigger obstacles at 3.10pm. He takes on Paul Nicholls' Pasco. The trainer has won two of the last four renewals of this race and Pasco had two convincing wins in big-field Newbury hurdles last year before pulling-up in the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Two high quality hurdlers and old foes renew rivalry over fences in the novices chase at 3.40 - The Tother One was 3rd in a Grade 1 hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival with Gone To Lunch 5th, then in an Aintree Grade 2 hurdle three weeks later Gone To Lunch was 2nd with The Tother One third.

Trainer Philip Hobbs has won the 2.40pm race four times since 2000, and saddles Hector's Choice, a winner of his only hurdles start in France.

Notable Jockeys: David Probert is fighting it out to be crowned Champion Apprentice, he leads by 2 winners.

Jamie Spencer - current champion jockey.

Neil Callan - 3rd in the Championship table.

William Carson - grandson of former champion jockey Willie Carson.

Notable Horses: John Gosden won the 1 mile fillies maiden last year with subsequent Royal Ascot Ribblesdale Stakes winner Michita. This year he runs Hometown in division 1 at 2.20pm and Mayaalah and Take The Hint in division 2 at 3.50pm.

Lingfield Park

Highland Homestead looks for a hat-trick of wins in the final race at 5.00pm
The Maiden Auction divided last year with the winner of the second division King Hafhafah going on to run in Listed company, so today's winner could be worth following for the future. The divisions are run at 2.00pm and 2.30pm.

Feature Race: Weatherbys Bank Handicap 4.30pm.
