Notable Jockeys: Paul Hanagan & David Allan are locked together on 36 winners apiece, as they battle to be the leading jockey on the Yorkshire racecourses during the 2008 Flat season, which comes to resounding conclusion at Doncaster. The prize for the top rider in Yorkshire is the coveted Sky Bet Trophy. Ironically, both riders finished on 32 winners each on the Yorkshire tracks last year, with Hanagan claiming the award by virtue of securing more second places than his rival. Richard Fahey has won the trainers' prize, having recorded 41 winners so far on the Yorkshire courses this season. He, too, will receive the Sky Bet Trophy. David Probert needs one winner to be crowned the Champion Apprentice. Ryan Moore - can safely assume that he has this seasons Champion rider title in the bag with an astounding 186 winners. He re-claims the tile having won it in 2006.

In a competition reminiscent of last season's shared Jockeys' Championship between Jamie Spencer and Seb Sanders, the battle to be the 2008 Champion Apprentice Jockey looks like going right down to the final day of the season, as both William Buick and David Probert are locked together in a thrilling duel. Amazingly, they are both apprenticed to Kingsclere (Berkshire) trainer, Andrew Balding. Three years ago, racegoers at Doncaster witnessed Hayley Turner and Saleem Golam sharing the Apprentice Jockeys' title with 44 winners apiece when racing had concluded at Doncaster.
The party atmosphere continues after racing with 'live' music on stage in the Lazarus Exhibition Hall by the 'The Bogus Brothers'.For young racegoers, there's a bouncy castle and fun bus in the Family Enclosure, while racegoers dining in the Lincoln Restaurant in the Premier Enclosure will be entertained by the sounds of Frank Sinatra.
