Former Italian trained Il Grande Maurizio (4.00pm) is going for a 4th win in a row. He is unbeaten in Britain with his sole run - here - being a victory. He takes on former Group 3 winner Mac Love.

Notable Horses
The 12.25pm sees the jumping debut of Peppertree Lane, a useful stayer on the Flat whose last race in October was in the German St Leger, where he came 2nd, when trained by Mark Johnston.
The Hennessy at 2.40pm sees ante-post favourite Big Buck's attempt to follow up last year's win by Denman for trainer Paul Nicholls. He takes on three Grade 1 winners, Albertas Run, Air Force One and Snoopy Loopy.
Inglis Drever (2.05pm) has become a real favourite amongst racing fans and aims for a 4th consecutive win in the Long Distance Hurdle to go with his three World Hurdle wins at the Cheltenham Festival. He takes on Blazing Bailey, a Grade 1 winner in April who beat Inglis Drever in the 2007 Cleeve Hurdle.
Saintsaire (1.35pm) has won this race in both of the last two years for Paul Nicholls but is saddled this time by Alex Hales.

1.15pm Messager was unbeaten in point-to-points and a hunter chase last season and makes his debut for Ferdy Murphy who has won this race three times in the last ten years.
Irish hurdling star Harchibald will be back in the North East bidding to record a third victory in the 'Fighting Fifth' Hurdle (3.30pm). He takes on Sublimity, the winner of the Champion Hurdle in 2007 & Punjabi, one of the up-and-coming hopes for Britain in next year's Champion Hurdle and a Grade 1 winner at Punchestown last season.

The Fighting Fith launches the £1 million WBX.COM Triple Crown taking in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton Park Racecourse in December & the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham Racecourse next March. It is also part of jump racing's Order of Merit.

Some well-related horses with great prospects line up at 6.50pm - Racketeer is a half-brother to the Duke of Roxburghe's 5-time Group 1 winner Attraction and is in the same ownership. He takes on Saptapadi, a Derby entrant for next year and a full-brother to Group 3 Royal Ascot winner Patkai. Munjum also has a Derby entry.
Salute (7.20pm) won this race last year.
In the 8.50pm Bavarian Nordic is one to watch as he has won his last three races. Man of Gwent, in the same race, returns to the scene of his only victory, but the story in the Racing Post the next days declared that it had won a £1m gamble.
