Notable Horses

Barbers Shop, second in this year's Paddy Power Gold Cup, runs for The Queen at 2.35pm. He takes on Battlecry, placed in Grade 1 novice chases at both Cheltenham and Aintree earlier this year, and Ornais who defeated Battlecry last time out.

The brilliant Inglis Drever won the novices hurdle at 2.00pm in 2003. His owner Graham Wylie and trainer Howard Johnson attempt to repeat the feat with On Raglan Road, who met his only defeat in four starts last time at Aintree.

3.10pm - Alfadora won this race last year for trainer Milton Harris and jockey Charlie Poste.

Martin Pipe won the 3.40pm race three times between 2001-2004. His son David has since taken over the training reins and attempts to win the race himself with Quaddick Lake.
