Notable Jockeys: Ryan Moore - leading rider this season with over 160 winners. Second in the championship race is Richard Hughes with just over 100 winners. Jamie Spencer - joint champion jockey. Notable Horses: Sir Alex Ferguson bids for another victory this week, but on the Turf rather than a football field. His colours are carried by Halfway House, a well-bred son of Italian Oaks winner, Zanzibar, which was also trained by Michael Bell. Serious Attitude does have the right attitude as she is so far unbeaten and bids to keep it that way at 2.40pm. She takes on Aspen Darlin, an easy Group 3 winner last time out, and Langs Lash, winner of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. David Wachman's Bushranger (3.10pm) is the only Group 1 winner in the field. He takes on some talented colts though including Glorious Goodwood winner Prolific. Snoqualmie Girl (1.30pm) has finished closer to Rainbow View than any other horse this season when second to her at Doncaster. The winner subsequently took a Group 1 race and is hot favourite for next season's 1,000 Guineas.

Hexham

David England lies 10th in the jump jockeys table
Notable Horses: Once raced Punchestown bumper winner On Raglan Road has his first run in this country for local owners Andrea & Graham Wylie who paid a massive £320,000 for him earlier this year. The 4.30pm race is an interesting novice hurdle. Solent, a Listed winner on the flat, was impressive on his hurdling debut. He takes on Alfie Flits who was a Group class performer on the flat. Little Josh in the final race of the day at 5.40pm has won his first ever start under rules last month and hopes to keep a 100% strike rate for trainer Nigel Twiston Davies.
Feature Race: Hexham Christmas Party Nights Novices' Chase 2.50pm
The 4-30pm. Novices Hurdle is being named in honour of Hexham's long serving Assistant Groundsman, Michael Morris, in recognition of his sterling 25 years service at the Course.

Children under 16 are admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
Other Information: National Hunt Racing returns to Hexham after the summer break with two important meetings in October. There is also a reciprocal welcome awaiting members of Championship winning Durham County Cricket Club.
A courtesy bus will run from Hexham Railway Station at 1.20pm and Hexham Bus Station at 1.25pm.

Notable Horses: Uvinza (2.30pm) was 5th in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster to subsequent Group 1 winner Rainbow View. Princess Rose Anne won here last time out and goes for the double at 4.10pm under the same rider, Liam Keniry. However For Life is in the same race and also has won at the track under his rider Natalia Gemelova.

Other Information: The A22 is closed both ways between the Naggs Hall Roundabout junction and B2029 Ray Lane due to a burst water main. Diversion in operation. Please allow extra time when travelling to the racecourse.

Trainer Marco Botti won the 9.20pm race last year - he tries again with Avertis this time.
